Hi! We’re Rachael & Brandon, the creators behind Padfoot & CO

We live at the bottom of the South Island, in Invercargill, NZ with our big fur baby, Jagy.

I have been making jewellery for eleven years now, after attending a beading workshop in Christchurch while recovering from a Bone Marrow Transplant.

After having to leave my job in retail in 2018 due to health reasons, I found myself at a bit of a loss. I’m not the type to just sit around all day, so in that same year, Padfoot & CO was born!

Padfoot & CO started as just a hobby. It was a way for me to share my various creations, and earn a little bit of money to help fund my creativity while I was unable to work.

I started out with beaded jewellery, but have learnt so many new skills in the last eleven years. My range now includes handcrafted polymer clay earrings, handstamped jewellery and much more! Everything you see on this site is handmade by me. My goal is to create jewellery that is made with love and can be treasured by you for many years to come!

In 2021, Brandon and I got the plant bug, and started collecting indoor plants, so making cute cover pots for our plants was a natural progression for our fledgling biz. In 2021 we also started attending craft markets with my creations, and we’ve been at it ever since. We work as a team, with Rachael doing all the creative work, and Brandon being our resident plant expert and propagator. We figured we’d better offer some plants to go in all those cover pots!

Running a small biz has been a huge learning curve, but we are so proud of how far Padfoot & CO has come from very humble beginnings, to where we are now. We have poured a lot of blood, sweat, tears and love into this business. We have so many exciting things planned for the future, and we can’t wait to see how our wee biz will grow in the coming years.

So…where did the β€˜Padfoot’
in Padfoot & CO come from?

Padfoot

Padfoot was a rescue we ended up with in 2018. He was the coolest wee dude, with such a big personality, We got him we he was so small he could fit in the palm of our hands, and had him with us until 2020, when we lost him to a mystery illness. His favourite spot was usually tucked up in someone’s hoody, and he was the cutest little desk companion!
